God is just a painkiller - I avoid it!
I find no pride in expressing my disbelief in the necessity of God in my life. It's not an achievement. More than engaging in discussions (or arguments) about whether or not God exists, It makes more sense for me to think about 'necessity' of God. And I make an open and most outright rejection of God's necessity in our lives.
Though I publicly don't invite anyone for any discussion/argument about God, sometimes, he enters without our interest. I have heard some people asking 'What's wrong if people find peace, a consolation, a pacifying effect if they pray to God?' Well, that's the whole problem. Let me dive in.
Seeking God for solving your problems or helping you achieve success is like taking a cough syrup for Tuberculosis. It's like taking a painkiller tablet for migraine - you're not addressing the problem, you're treating the symptom. Cough is not the whole TB, Painkiller just stops our brain from sensing the pain; but the problem does exist and soon after the painkiller stops working the pain returns. What's worse, in addition to deceiving the brain; painkiller leaves its own side effects. God exactly works the same way.
God does not solve the problem; on the long run, it instead creates! it is you who should solve it! You either learn to tolerate the pain or cure the disease; not its symptoms.
You may still turn to the painkiller God if you are a pharmacist called priest!
